Reminders:

Sports Day: School Spirit Day : Sunshine, sand and the ocean….life is good at the beach! Panorama Hills School is having our very own beach day this Thursday June 25th during our Sports Day festivities. Students are welcome to wear their "beach wear" to school for the day, please ensure students are dressed appropriately for the weather as we will be outside for the majority of the day.

Thank you for your donations to support our Sports Day!!! We are still looking for any PILLOW CASES and FABRIC items (sheets, fabric pieces, dishtowels, bandanas). If you are able to donate any PILLOW CASES OR FABRIC items, please send them to school before June 24, 2015. Thank you. :)

Pajama Day!!!   The last day of school will be pajama day in our Gr. 1 classrooms. Students are invited to wear their PJ’s to school and bring a stuffy to school.

We encourage all students to continue reading and practicing their writing over the summer.

Homework

1. Literacy Map: 

Students can keep their Literacy Map books at home. We will no longer be using them at school.

2. Reading:

Please have your child read for a minimum of 10-15 minutes per night.  This can be a paper book or Raz-Kids.  If using Raz-Kids, please have your child listen to the book, read the book, and then complete the comprehension quiz (independently).  Remember to allow your child time when solving unknown words.  Encourage them to use single and double graphemes, think about what would make sense, use the picture clues, and skip the word and continue reading to solve the word.

The students worked very hard this year in literacy map!  This was our last week of words for the year, congratulations everyone!J
