Homework

1. Literacy Map:

No Literacy Map homework over the weekend.  Homework books will be kept at school for marking and returned on Monday. 

2. Reading:

Read for 20 minutes everyday.  This may be a library book, home reading book, or a book online.  It is beneficial to have your child read their book both silently to themselves as well as out loud.  Ask your child to retell what they have read.

3.Tell and Show:

We will be doing letter P for Tell and Show next week. Please continue to have your child draw and write independently.  We are amazed at the writing and drawing that students have been doing.  Way to go!

Virtue:

Kindness is our virtue this month.  Four of the Grade 1 classes (Benner, Dalderis, McGivern, Beechey) will be presenting at the kindness assembly on February 20^th.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN7gdw38x-8

We have been working very diligently on the rules of the silent “e”  What are some of his rules?

Reminders:

1      Please sign and return your child’s report card envelope if you haven’t done so already.

2      For Valentines Day this year we are asking that no commercial valentines cards be handed out.  Students are learning how to write kindness notes in class in conjunction with our virtue of the month, Kindness.

3      Grade 1 family movie night is now SOLD OUT.  There will be no more tickets available to purchase, any movie order forms will be sent back home. There will be NO tickets at the door for purchase. We are at capacity for this event.  Thank you for your support.
