Homework
1. Read for 20 minutes everyday. This may be a library book, home reading
book, or a book online. Your child
should practice reading both silently as well as out loud. Make sure to discuss with your child about
what they are reading. You can have them
retell or answer specific questions about the story.
3. Tell and Show: We
are presenting letter J this week. Tell
and Show is a great way to help your child develop their drawing and writing
skills. Please allow your child to
draw and colour their picture on their own.
You may help your child come up with the clues for their object. Please have your child write at least one of
the sentences independently. If you are
concerned that we won’t be able to read it due to the “kid spelling” please
just scribe for your child underneath. Thank you to those of you who have
already been doing this so far!

Reminders:
1. Mrs. Schroeder will be having her baby
in the New Year. Her last day will be
Friday December 19th. Ms.
Beechey will be taking over for her.
2. Students are working hard to prepare
for our Celebration of Learning. If your
child would like to practice our final song at home they can access it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0YuLw85_Fo&feature=youtu.be
3. The hill and area surrounding the
school is still very icy. Many students
are sliding down the hills before, during, and after school. Please remind your child that this is not
okay as it is extremely unsafe and they could get hurt.
4. Please see the hand out that went home
about the Grade 1 Celebration of Learning and photography/DVD ordering. We are asking that parents please not bring
in any video recorders or cameras to the performance. We want the performance to be enjoyed by the
entire audience without disruption of any kind.
If you have any questions about this please email your child’s
teacher. Orders are to be paid in
cash only and are due by Friday December 19th. Here is the link to the digital order form: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/6df45641-ca7b-4dc5-b742-e9c0249e7699
