Homework
1. Literacy Map homework books will
be kept at school over the weekend and returned on Monday. The graphemes this week were very
challenging. Due to this we will assess
the quizzes and make an informed decision about which graphemes need to be reviewed
this week.
2. Read for 20 minutes
everyday. This could be a library book, home reading or a book
online. It is beneficial to have your child read their home reading book
more than once. This helps to improve fluency. Have your child practice
“check for understanding.” They read a few pages, stop, and retell what
they have read so far. If they can’t tell you what they have read then
they need to go back and reread.
3.
We discussed verbs today in preparation for some writing we will be doing
this upcoming week. Please brainstorm
and bring a list of 5-7 verbs.
4. Tell and Show:
Remember to bring your “Tell and
Show” duotang to school on your assigned day and be prepared to
share. This week your child should only complete the “Bb” page,
sharing something that begins with the letter B. Please be creative, we
want to be challenged when guessing your item!
